Livestock, Bloodstock, Aquaculture & Exotic Animals

Archie Horne

Archie has joined Miller to head up the Livestock, Bloodstock, Aquaculture & Exotic Animals team. He has particular expertise in placing insurance for racehorses around the globe.

Beginning as an International Casualty broker, Archie then went on to become Head of Bloodstock and Livestock for WTW.

Prior to joining the insurance industry, Archie was in the British Army and deployed all over the world. He was also a member of the Queen’s Lifeguard and rode on William and Kate’s wedding.

In his spare time, Archie enjoys riding the Cresta Run and going on adventures with his children.

Florence Crowhurst

Florence has joined Miller’s Livestock, Bloodstock, Aquaculture & Exotic Animals team, specialising in North American, Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian and Latin American business.

Florence has extensive experience in the bloodstock & livestock industries in the UK, France, and Argentina, having worked for a bloodstock journalist in Paris and a large agricultural machinery provider in Argentina, before beginning her career in the insurance industry.

Florence holds a Master’s in Modern European Languages and is fluent in both French and Spanish.

In her spare time, she enjoys diving, paddleboarding and snorkelling all around the globe.

Harry Findlay

Harry has joined Miller’s Livestock, Bloodstock, Aquaculture & Exotic Animals team, with a primary focus on livestock mortality, specialising in natural disasters, disease coverage and dairy farming in the US and Australia.

He has worked for multiple insurance brokers, beginning his career as an International Liability broker, specialising in Non-Marine Liability in Canada and China and in the fields of International Property & Casualty and Livestock. Additionally, Harry has first-hand experience running a dairy farm in Scotland.

In his spare time, Harry is a keen fisherman.

Ben Roe

Ben has joined Miller’s Livestock, Bloodstock, Aquaculture & Exotic Animals team, with a primary focus on North American Livestock, particularly Exotics and Aquaculture business.

Ben began his career in accountancy before moving into insurance, initially working for WTW as an insurance advisor in their Livestock team.

Exotics includes zoo, private collection, and film/TV animals!

In his spare time, Ben is a big fan of football and films.

Casualty

Steve Carr

Steve has recently joined Miller’s Casualty team, focusing on the production and placement of North American commercial accounts.

Steve’s main areas of focus will be Transportation, Manufacturing and Construction, providing solutions within the upper Middle-Market to Large and Complex Casualty arena. His experience is much wider.

With nearly ten years’ experience in the Global insurance market, Steve has extensive knowledge of North American Energy Liability, General Liability, Excess Liability and Pollution coverage, as well as Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Fortune 500 accounts on a large-scale commercial basis. Using his wholesale background, Steve helps the wider team to facilitate growth of the North American Casualty book, helping increase business production and placement across the US and Canada.

In his spare time, Steve is a keen golfer and rugby player.

Cyber

Danny Cooper

Danny has joined Miller's Cyber team. Having joined the Insurance market in 2009 he has extensive knowledge in the professional, financial institution and cyber markets for business emanating from North America.

Before joining Miller, Danny worked for several leading Lloyd’s brokers, and most recently co-founded a new Lloyd’s broker where he was instrumental in expanding the company.

Using his wholesale and retail broker client development and servicing background, Danny helps the wider team to facilitate growth and maintain strong service standards.

Delegated Authorities

Steve Maslen

Steve has recently joined Miller’s Delegated Authorities team. With 40 years’ experience in the London Market, he specialises in Canadian binding authorities for both property and general liability.

Steve began his insurance career in 1983 as an Aviation Reinsurance Claims Broker. In 2001 he moved away from claims and began specialising in placing Canadian binders.

In his spare time, Steve is a big football fan and enjoys D.I.Y.

Mike Biddle

Mike has joined Miller’s Delegated Authorities team, specialising in Canadian wholesale and MGA business.

His experience is extensive across a number of classes, including Fine Art, UK High Hazard Property & Liability and Contingency, but these days concentrates on Canadian Property Binders and North American Sawmills & Forestry Risks.

In his spare time, Mike is a keen golfer.

Nick Wilson

Nick recently joined Miller’s Delegated Authorities team, specialising in Canadian commercial general liability, placing standalone binding authority, specific lineslip and open market business.

Nick began his career in 2005, working on the operations side of insurance across multiple lines of North American business, including Liability, Property, E&O, Livestock and Contingency. In 2011, he moved into broking, where he started as a D&O Broker working solely for insureds based in Israel. Since then, he has focused on North American and Canadian business, working as a binder broker handling muti-line classes of business for various coverholders.

In his spare time, Nick enjoys playing golf, watching football and spending time with his family.

Saif Sulaiman

Saif recently joined Miller’s Delegated Authorities team, where he specialises in Property, Construction, Fine Art/Jewellers block and anything in between.

Saif is responsible for expanding Miller’s international presence and offering worldwide solutions, whilst ensuring a strong Canadian presence. His insurance career began in 2005, initially on UK binders, and since then has primarily focused on Canadian and North American business.

In his spare time, Saif is a big football fan and enjoys snowboarding and travelling.

Jason Fernandes

Jason has joined Miller’s Delegated Authorities team, he has established a reputation for finding solutions for west coast US property that is vulnerable from wildfire and earthquake exposure, whilst also sourcing solutions for east coast US property that is exposed to hurricane and flood perils.

Jason’s expertise lies in commercial property, homeowners, high value homeowners, auto physical damage and commercial general liability, with a heavy focus on natural catastrophe, hurricane, tornado, hail, wildfire, flood and earthquake perils.

Jason has worked in the insurance industry since 2004. The majority of his career has been on the underwriting side at Markel Syndicate 3000 and Canopius Syndicate 4444, specifically writing North American and Caribbean Delegated Authority Binders. Jason holds the designation Charter Insurer ACII and holds a degree in Economics & Business from Newcastle University.

In his spare time, Jason is a regular badminton and golf player.

Matt Dear

Matt has recently joined Miller’s Delegated Authorities team, where his expertise lies in North American business, including Property and Casualty insurance and direct and facultative markets.

He has over 19 years’ experience in the insurance industry having worked for several multinational insurance brokers.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys watching sport and playing golf.

Energy

Joe Ridley

Joe has joined Miller’s Onshore Energy team; he’s focused on US midstream and downstream property risks.

This is Joe’s first role in the insurance industry, he has spent the past eight years working in the fitness industry, most recently as a Regional Fitness & Wellbeing Manager.

In his spare time, Joe enjoys playing rugby, having previously played professionally.

Samuel Munro

Samuel is an Account Handler within Miller’s Energy Liability team, where he is responsible for supporting the placement of energy liability business on a global basis.

Samuel has a Master’s degree in Politics and BSc degree in Economics & Political Science.

In his spare time, he enjoys socialising with friends and playing golf.

Media, Film & TV

Susana Bramwell

Susana recently joined Miller to head up the Media, TV & Film team, the team provides specialist solutions for advertising agents and production companies, including production indemnity, client ad wraps and corporate covers.

With over 30 years’ experience in the Media & Entertainment insurance sector, including co-owning an independent specialised insurance broker and leading the Media & Entertainment team at Aon, Susana provides technical advice and niche products to match the needs of clients operating in this sector.

In her spare time, Susana enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, travelling and walking.

Dan Blanchard

Dan is a media and entertainment insurance specialist with over 25 years’ insurance experience. He has recently joined Miller’s Sports & Entertainment team, with a focus on enhancing Miller’s media specialty offering to both existing and new clients.

Dan’s primary focus over the last 10 years has been specifically dedicated to the Commercial Production industry, predominantly within the UK, whilst supporting colleagues in the US and across the globe.

In his spare time, Dan is a big motorsports fan and enjoys going to car events when he can.

Ross Beard

Ross has recently joined Miller’s Media, Film & TV team.

He has over 25 years’ insurance experience, specialising in media and production insurance for over 16 years, with a focus on advertising agencies and commercial production companies in the UK, but also with experience working with TV and Film Production companies domestically and globally.

In his spare time, Ross enjoys playing tennis.

Rural, Farms & Estates

Paul Jacobs

Paul heads-up Miller’s Farms and Estates offering, advising landed estate and high net worth clients in the rural sector.

Paul has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, and prior to joining Miller was a Director at Aon. Paul’s extensive experience in dealing with major and complex losses has provided him with an excellent understanding of the nuances in creating bespoke policies and meeting client requirements. Paul and his team combine an innovative approach to assisting the Rural/Estates community with their respective insurance portfolios, whilst also utilising traditional broking methods.

In his spare time, Paul enjoys watching football and travelling.

Steve Quick

Steve is a member of Miller’s Farms and Estates team, focused on developing innovative ways of assisting the Rural/Estates community with their respective insurance portfolios whilst also utilising traditional broking methods to assist existing and future clients.

Steve has over 15 years’ experience in the sector, with particular expertise in UK Property embracing all lines of business, including Country Houses and Estates. Prior to joining Miller, Steve was with Aon.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys watching football and Formula 1.
